FROM THE WATER: Paintings from the Fish to Land series - paintings by David Rose

This body of work has led itself from stripe studies to a more retrospective abstraction, which merges geometry and free flowing marks. His concern and direction has always moved towards the lines and forms of Diebenkorn and Klee but beneath that, there is always the search for an elusive deep seated spiritual root.

I will be volunteeering as an event host for Zaccho Dance Theatre's Biennial Fundraising Event:

Tuesday, July 15, 2008 6pm to 9pm at Teatro ZinZanni on Pier 29, the Embarcadero.

This fundraiser will support Zaccho's free arts programs for children in Bayview Hunters Point, now in its 17th year. Join us for dinner, wine, silent auction, and a fantastic performance by internationally renowned artists Julie Dash (guest emcee), Linda Tillery, Ann Carlson, Beth Clarke, Pamela Z, Derique McGee, and the aerial magic of the Zaccho Youth Company. tickets: $125 per person or $250 VIP
