2013 ASIAN AMERICAN 

VISUAL ARTS SHOWCASE

at SF City Hall

     

Announcing an opportunity to submit your work for consideration to exhibit in City Hall, San Francisco, beginning in May, 2013:

Participating members from San Francisco's Board of Supervisors have a history of showcasing local artists in their City Hall offices.  In addition to the exposure to the many daily visitors to each Supervisor's office this outreach opportunity reinforces the importance of visual arts by acting as an ever-present reminder that San Francisco has a vibrant arts community that actively supports and influences the cultural fabric of San Francisco.

McKinley Arts Solutions, in conjunction with the Asian Pacific Islander Cultural Center, has been asked to coordinate the outreach to Asian American visual artists living in the city of San Francisco and the San Francisco Bay Area (North, East, and South Bays) to celebrate Asian Pacific Islander Heritage Month during May 2013.  Participating Supervisors include:

All artists within the San Francisco Bay Area are invited to submit their work, however PRIORITY WILL BE GIVEN TO ASIAN AMERICAN ARTISTS LIVING WITHIN EACH SUPERVISOR'S DISTRICT.

 

DEADLINE FOR SUBMISSIONS IS APRIL 12, 2013 before 10 P.M.

Notification date:  April 26th, 2013

 

Show dates:  May 9 - May 31, 2013

Installation: May 7th-8th, 2013

Reception for the artists:  FRIDAY, MAY 16, 5:30 - 8PM

 

SUBMISSION GUIDELINES:

There are NO SHOW FEES for submitting work or participating in this opportunity.

It is recommended that you submit a cohesive body of work for consideration.  Please note, there is LIMITED SPACE for works larger than 48 inches in any direction.  Each artist may submit 1 - 10 pieces for review.  Wall hung 3D work is eligible for consideration, pedestal or free standing works cannot be accommodated at this time.

E-mail must contain:  

1) Submission list containing TITLE / YEAR / MEDIUM / (FRAMED) DIMENSIONS / RETAIL PRICE. 

*submissions without pricing information will not be reviewed

2) Artist's Statement as a Simple Text file, Rich Text file, or Word Document.  Please do not send pdf files.

3) Artist's Bio or CV as a Simple Text file, Rich Text file, or Word Document.  Please do not send pdf files.

4) Image Files sent as 72 dpi 4"  x 5" (approx 290 x 360 pixels) jpg attachments.  High res images will be requested, if selected.  The name of each image file must be the same as the title of the artwork depicted. Do not send image files embedded in your email.
