These sumi ink and watercolor landscapes incorporate both Asian brush painting techniques and impressionist style to depict both beautiful scenes from Tisha’s travels and plein air views of the Bay Area.

This exhibit is part of an ongoing series that spotlights emerging Bay Area artists and is produced by McKinley Art Solutions with sponsorship by Hotel Triton.

Tisha uses artwork and creativity to encourage change in community norms for more than 20 years. Tisha’s vision created Health Through Art, and her dedication has sustained it against the odds. She had no model, but created one herself: combining community-based process, consensus decision-making, the 12-step model of recovery, and the power of creativity. In 1984 she founded the Health & Human Resource Education Center (HHREC), through which Health Through Art and the Black Women’s Media Project are run. She has served as a consultant and special project coordinator for multiple county-wide projects including a CalWorks campaign, and a State Incentive Grant on binge drinking. Health Through Art’s message has been communicated on more than 7,000 billboards in mass-media venues, using community artwork and a public service media strategy.

In 2007, Tisha was awarded one of two Outstanding Achievement in Prevention Awards by the The County Alcohol and Drug Program Administrators Association of California.

McKinley Art Solutions is the nexus between artists in the San Francisco Bay Area and patrons of contemporary art.  San Francisco based curator and art lover Matt McKinley, principal of McKinley Art Solutions, is fascinated by the impact art has on quality of life and works to demystify the language of visual arts by offering a full range of services for both artists and collectors.
