McKINLEY ART SOLUTIONS ANNOUNCES
“ART FOR ALL SEASONS” - A HOLIDAY ART SALON
SAN FRANCISCO, CALIFORNIA, November 27, 2007 – McKinley Art Solutions, the art consultation firm of San Francisco-based curator Matt McKinley, presents ART FOR ALL SEASONS, a contemporary art salon for the holidays. Art For All Seasons is sponsored by the SAN FRANCISCO ARTISTS RESOURCE CENTER and is a collaborative effort between McKINLEY ART SOLUTIONS and ARTworkSF.
The perfect opportunity for finding a unique gift for someone special, this salon represents a cross section of diverse contemporary styles that each bring a distinct artistic voice to easily accessible imagery in a family friendly environment. Featured artists include: Kristine Mays, Andrea Rey, Eric Bohr, Rick Begneaud, AnneKarin Glass, Dimitri Kourouniotis, Sherry Miller, Chris Adessa, Priya, Kellyann Gilson, and Kerin Moldenhauer.
Art For All Seasons runs December 18 through December 22, 2007 in the Main Gallery of SomArts Cultural Center, 934 Brannan Street, San Francisco. The reception for the event is Tuesday, December 18 6pm to 8pm. $5 suggested donation to benefit the Artists’ Resource Center of San Francisco, however no one will be turned away.
Matt McKinley chose the ‘salon style’ presentation as a way to introduce a wide variety of individuals to a diverse selection of original bodies of work from local artists. “The breadth and scope of diversity in artworks defined by the ubiquitous label of ‘contemporary’ can make the process of identifying current art trends and developments a daunting task. I see myself as a tutor, of sorts. Not in the sense that I want to dictate what is ‘good’ or ‘bad’, but from the standpoint that through exposure to a diverse selection of unique works I hope to help people discover their own subjective understanding of visual arts.” In addition to his consulting business, Matt has been Chief Curator at ARTworkSF since 2003, an invited speaker for the Small Business Association of San Francisco, consultant for the exhibit, “Reversing Vandalism”, sponsored by The Friends of the San Francisco Public Library, and Curatorial Associate with BorderZone Arts, an international non-profit art and program organization. Matt has also concepted, curated and designed fundraising exhibits for SOMARTS Gallery, San Francisco Sex Information, The San Francisco Artists Resource Center and Project Open Hand.
