19-Jan-12	CFA: SF LGBT Center 10th Anniversary Show The 10th Anniversary of the SF LGBT Center is here and in honor of the artists that have shown here over the past 10 year, we are happy to announce this call for artwork for our 10th Anniversary show. We are asking all the artists that have shown at the Center to submit between 1-3 pieces of art for a building wide show.
18-Jan-12	CFA: Serenity 'earth' - Deadline FEB 19 Artists are invited to submit a body of work that focuses on the non-water, non-vapor substrates that shape our planet and environments.  Whether man-made (like concrete) or naturally occuring (dirt, clay, mud, rock, metals and minerals) this installment of the Serenity series seeks submissions exploring 'earth' as object, inspiration, environment.
18-Jan-12	San Francisco Arts Commission, Call for Artists: 2012 Art on Market Street Kiosk Poster Series - Deadline MAY 18 The Art on Market Street Program, which has commissioned new artwork by Bay Area artists on an annual basis since 1992, includes a bus kiosk poster series and other temporary projects that take place on San Francisco’s main thoroughfare.  For the kiosk poster series, the Art on Market Street Program commissions three consecutive three-month poster exhibitions annually. Each poster series consists of a set of six original and related designs that are professionally reproduced and printed as six sets of posters, 68 inches high by 47 ¼ inches wide (trim size), for installation in 36 bus kiosks on Market Street between 8th Street and the Embarcadero.  All artists’ designs must be approved by the Arts Commission and are expected to be appropriate for a broad public audience.

Robert Louis Stevenson wrote, "Everyone, sooner or later, sits down to a banquet of consequences."  Arc Gallery is looking for contemporary works that will fill its space with a smorgasbord of perspectives on this theme. 15-Jan-12	Call for California Artists, Art in the Library: Napa City-County Library - Deadline MAR 31 The Napa City-County Library invites artists to apply to a juried competition with award winners’ work displayed in the Napa Main Library. Media: Painting, graphics, watercolors, photography, mixed media that are sized 20″ to 36″ generally show well.  A CD of good quality digital images is required for the competition that will be judged by their Committee. There is no fee.
15-Jan-12	Call for Applicants: US/Japan Creative Artists’ Program - Deadline MAR 1 The National Endowment for the Arts cooperates with the U.S. Japan Friendship Commission in the implementation of this program. The U.S/Japan Creative Artists’ Program provides support for up to five outstanding contemporary or traditional artists from the United States to spend a three-month residency in Japan.

25-Jun-10	Recology SF - Artist in Residency Program - deadline AUG 31 The goal of the Artist In Residence Program at Recology San Francisco is to use art to inspire people to recycle more and conserve natural resources. The company provides selected local artists with the opportunity to create art using materials they gather from San Francisco's refuse. This includes 24-hour access to a well-equipped studio, a monthly stipend, and an exhibit at the end of their residency, but artists seem most excited about having 24-hour access to the materials.

02-Feb-09	Bancroft Sculpture Exhibit - DEADLINE FEB 14 Art and nature merge in this annual outdoor exhibition at The Ruth Bancroft Garden. Juried by Carrie Lederer and Ann Weber. This benefit show for the garden will kick off on Father's Day Weekend with a Friday evening Preview Party with the artists. Wine and hors d'oeuvres will be served and there will be live music. Advance tickets are required for the Preview Party.

04-Dec-08	CONTROL - Deadline April 1, 2009 "Control" is a loaded word, evoking both positive and negative images: in control, out of control, controlled, controllable, control freak, social control (etiquette), political control (censorship), and on and on. The issue of control well merits exploration and representation by women artists, including the positive aspects: internal, external, involving people, space, process, materials, high tech, low tech, politically correct - or not. Also included in this exhibition will be selected artwork by the young women serving detention time in a juvenile detention center.  Show juried by Guerilla Girls West.
