'Hillside 1' Photomontage 15 x 19 2009 ------ The play between surface and perspective in two dimensions, the way the eye and brain succeed in overriding material reality with illusion, is fundamental to my work. ['Hillside 1' is from a series of] landscapes [from] a series in which “normal” photography, altered photography, and photomontage are used to question 2-dimensional techniques and realities. All of the original photography was shot in the Galapagos Islands, Ecuador, in 2005.
