'Yellow Flower, Green' Digitally Enhanced Ink Jet Print 16 x 20 ------ Blue Vase Series is an experiment with bright colors that celebrates the flush of spring and summer emerging. It is in response to the gray winter days and a need to express the joy that comes with the rebirth of a warm season. It is a departure from my focus on the urban environment with black and white images as it has separated itself from my practice of concentration on serious concepts and allowed me to simply paint; with light, my camera and digital enhancement. The images are quirkish intentionally in the way I have painted them on the computer. My goal was to make them unpredictable still life images. I wanted to challenge myself and the viewer’s perspective about flowers in photographs by making them appear slightly off and not simply a terrific clear photograph.
